Emeriti Events

Monthly Lecture Events

General Members' Meetings are held once per month during the academic year, at which a distinguished faculty speaker presents a talk on a timely topic. Typically these talks have been attended by 50-120 active Emeriti Association members. The General Members' meetings have, for many years, taken place at the Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club in the center of the UCSD campus on the second Wednesday of each month, from 3:30– 5 P.M. However, beginning in 2020, lectures are delivered via Zoom, with the exception of the annual meeting which is a hybrid event. In order to receive the Zoom link to participate in each event, please register here for each lecture at least 24 hours in advance. The Zoom link will then be emailed to you.

Special Meetings

Special meetings during the year include a Holiday Party that is held jointly with the UC San Diego Retirement Association--more than 200 members attended this past year--and the Welcoming Reception for potential new members in March. In June the UCSD Emeriti Association hosts a luncheon at the Faculty Club for Emeriti Association members with a special speaker invited to give the main talk. At this luncheon, the Association conducts its Annual Business meeting at which time the new President, President-Elect and new members of the Executive Committee are installed.
